Academic Assessments and Examinations
Internal Assessments and Examinations
Primary and Lower Secondary Students Internal Assessments:
Our primary and lower secondary students from Year 1 through to Year 9 are reviewed internally utilising formal written standardised assessments in Mathematics, English, and Mandarin.
Assessments take place three times a year in August, December and May. Cambridge Primary and Lower Secondary Progression Tests are used to monitor students progress.
The assessments are done in written format and a formal examination setting.
This data is used to track students progress across the school.
Upper Secondary Students Internal Assessments Cambridge IGCSE:
Our Cambridge IGCSE students are reviewed internally throughout the year using the official Cambridge IGCSE Progression Tests for all subjects areas of the Cambridge IGCSE. These IGCSE Progression Test are set by Cambridge but are marked internally at KBH.
External Assessments and Examinations
Primary and Lower Secondary Students External Examinations:
At Knightsbridge House, we believe that third party external evaluation of our students is equally important to ensure that the school and our students are performing at internationally benchmarked standards.
For Primary and Lower Secondary Students KBH conducts the following external examinations in Term 4 (May) of each year:
Cambridge Primary Check Point Examination Year 6 (Subjects: Mathematics, English, Science) (Optional from May 2025);
Cambridge Center for Evaluation and Monitoring MidYIS Examination Year 7 (mandatory);

Young Chinese Test “YCT” for students in Year 1 to Year 7 (optional);

Along with these internal and external assessments we aim to review students holistically and give students the best outcomes regardless of their academic performance.
