Background

An experienced educationalist with a career spanning many years in international school settings. Jennifer is from Sydney, Australia but has spent the majority of her professional career teaching internationally. She has worked in Sydney, London, Dublin, Papua New Guinea, Qatar, Greece, Seoul, Yangon, Beijing and currently is proud to be the Headteacher at Knightsbridge House International School. She is passionate about her leadership of KBH and is equally passionate about the development of the whole child, whilst ensuring a high quality academic programme is delivered. Jennifer enjoys travelling, writing and spending time with her family.

Tim Traser

Background

Tim is an educator, school leader, and world traveller with over three decades of experience in international schools around the world, from Shanghai, China, to Chiang Mai, Thailand, and from Osaka, Japan, to Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam. Tim is delighted to be in Singapore and proud to support KBH as the new Deputy Head of School. Tim firmly believes that teaching is the most noble profession in the world, and loves coming to work each day. Tim believes the best part of being a teacher is watching children learn, grow, and exceed even their own expectations. Tim enjoys reading, travelling, and writing. He has published nearly 20 books, mostly on games and activities for the classroom.

Fang Meng

Background

Fang is a seasoned educator with over 20 years of experience in international schools in Singapore. Specialising in Chinese IB MYP, DP, and IGCSE, she serves as a Head of Department, Upper Primary Coordinator, and Bilingual Principal. Fang is passionate about student-centred learning and adept at designing bilingual programme curricula that caters to diverse learners. With a strong enthusiasm for integrating technology into education, Fang strives to inspire and motivate students. Beyond the classroom, she enjoys travelling during the holidays, which continually broadens her educational perspective.

Lucas Rose

Background

Lucas is from Tasmania, Australia but has lived more than half of his life overseas. He lived in Japan for 18 years, originally starting as a language teacher before progressing into all areas of Primary education. Lucas is passionate about teaching children in all areas of academia as well as helping them to grow into well rounded individuals. He has been teaching in primary schools for 2 decades now in Japan, Singapore and did his university training in Australia. Lucas enjoys listening to music, especially collecting vinyl records, playing computer games and watching his beloved Australian Rules Football team, the Hawthorn Hawks.

Janice Lim

Background

Janice is an experienced secondary mathematics teacher specialising in Lower Secondary Mathematics and IGCSE Mathematics.  She holds extensive knowledge in classroom management and uses different teaching styles to cater to the needs of her students. She is passionate about teaching Mathematics and strives to create a classroom environment that is equally challenging and supportive where students are comfortable in raising their questions and taking risks.

Sathivelu Manickam

Background

Sathivelu, originally from Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, is an Engineering graduate from the University of Malaya and holds a Post-Graduate Certificate in Education (PGCE) from the University of Sunderland, UK. After a successful 20-year career in the oil and gas industry, he discovered his true calling in teaching. Transitioning to education has been a rewarding journey for him, one he embraces wholeheartedly. Sathivelu’s engineering background allows him to effectively convey science, technology, engineering, and maths (STEM) concepts with clarity and enthusiasm, enriching his students' learning experiences by connecting theory to real-world applications.

Damian O'Bree

Background

Damian has over 30 years experience in Primary and Secondary education. He has been a generalist classroom teacher, specialist English teacher and a teacher of the Performing Arts, primarily in Music and Drama. Damian has taught in a wide variety of educational settings in his hometown of Melbourne, Australia, as well as in Bangkok,Thailand. He believes that, with the right support and opportunity, all children can thrive. Damian enjoys singing in choirs, travel and theatre.

Jessica Calington

Background

Jessica has over 10 years of teaching experience in later Compulsory and Upper Secondary education in Sweden. She has generally been a classroom teacher, with a specialty in Language Development and Social Sciences. She was also appointed as a lead teacher, being responsible for leading her colleagues, overseeing projects and being in constant communication and cooperation with upper management. After completing her Master of Education degree, she continued her university studies while working, which helped her gain valuable knowledge in fields such as Language Development and Supervision and assessment of teachers. She has presented at international conferences, most notably in Tokyo (IAFOR), on the topic of "Translanguaging". As a teacher, she strives to give every student every opportunity possible to succeed, and above all to develop their talents. In her spare time she loves to run medium and long distances, travel when possible, and visit various art museums.

Sivaneswary Manikam

Background

Sivaneswary (Siva) from Malaysia has over 16 years of experience and has made significant impact as a teacher in international schools in Singapore and Malaysia. She has experience in every educational setting, including prep, primary, and secondary. Siva thinks that the best part about education is that no one can take it away from you. She is an enthusiastic and committed teacher who prepared her students for quiz competition in maths, science, and the humanities at the national level against students from other Singapore institutions. Her involvement with Friends of Singa has been focused on establishing connections between local and international schools in Singapore as a united country of educators and learners. Siva plans to involve the students at KBH in numerous international competitions and activities in the future. She will ensure that her KBH students have a joyful learning experience while using holistic teaching methodologies.

Glenn Walsh

With over 15 years of experience, Glenn from the USA has made a significant impact teaching in international schools in Singapore and Japan. Background

With 16 years of experience teaching the Chinese language, Teoh has a passion for sharing knowledge and inspiring students. After completing her Chinese Studies degree at the University of Malaya, she pursued a postgraduate teaching diploma in Chinese education at Institut Perguruan Darulaman in Malaysia. Following this, she taught at Malaysia Primary School from 2008 to 2022. In 2023, she embraced the opportunity to expand her horizons by joining KBH International School in Singapore after her tenure at Cheah Fah Primary School.

Lenka Merani

Background

Lenka is a qualified teacher with experience teaching at the prestigious North London Collegiate School in Singapore. She has also taught Italian and English in the past. In addition to her teaching qualification, Lenka holds a Master's Degree in Economics and Management, bringing a wealth of experience from diverse fields, which makes her a well-rounded educator who offers holistic education. Originally from Slovakia, she has lived in the USA, Czech Republic, Italy, UAE, and Singapore, with Singapore being her second home for the last 10 years. Lenka has two children and enjoys spending weekends with her family, baking sourdough bread, engaging in finger crafts such as embroidery and constructing miniature houses, and reading. She is an avid reader who founded a book club in her community to share her love of reading.

Background

Hannah is from the North East of England. She graduated from York St John University with a First Class Degree in Primary Education and in her first year teaching, she worked in Year 1 in Ark Atwood Academy in London. From there, she moved home to Middlesbrough where she taught Early Years in a large school - Green Lane Primary Academy. Hannah moved to Singapore in 2023 and started at Knightsbridge House in academic year 23_24. This is Hannah's sixth year teaching, however she has volunteered in schools and tuition centres from an early age. She has a passion for teaching children in the Early Years and those with Special Educational Needs. Hannah enjoys travelling, baking and hiking.

Violet Lazarus

Background

Violet hails from India, where she completed her education and began her teaching career. Her journey started with nurturing young minds as a Kindergarten teacher before advancing to instruct graduate students in Political Science - her area of expertise from her Master’s degree earned at Kanpur University, India. After marrying, Violet transitioned to Malaysia, where she enriched the learning environment at Sayfol International School, and subsequently moved to Singapore. There, she earned a prestigious Cambridge International Diploma for Teachers and Trainers and dedicated several years to teaching Primary and Secondary students at Global Indian International School, Singapore. Driven by a commitment to excellence, she further pursued an IB PYP teacher certificate from the University of Windsor, Canada. With 13 years of experience spanning from Kindergarten to Grade 7, Violet is celebrated for her student-centred approach, empowering each learner with a voice and choice in their education. Ain Marzuki

She believes in creating an engaging and supportive learning environment where every student feels valued and motivated to succeed. In her spare time, she loves to meditate, read, and paint.

Anna is an educator with vast experience as a university counsellor. Anna also enjoys teaching Business Studies, and especially likes teaching Mandarin to the younger grades at KBH. In her free time, Anna enjoys travelling and sightseeing. In the past few years, she has travelled to China, USA, Vietnam, Laos, Cambodia, Thailand, and now Singapore. Anna says the best thing about teaching is watching the children learn, grow, and develop throughout the years.

Artish Tiwari

Background

Artish was a physical education teacher for 2 years at Singapore Korean International School and fitness coach at Singapore Armed Forces (SAF) before moving on to Knightsbridge House. Artish is also highly experienced in conducting group level fitness trainings from age groups ranging from as young as 7 years old to adults in their 40s. Physical fitness is something in which he is very passionate about as it is a lifelong habit and skill. During his free time, Artish enjoys playing football with his friends and travelling with his family.

Shubhanjali Shraddha

Background

Ms. Shraddha has 7 years experience as an English and Science teacher and English and Science school books editor working both in India and Singapore. She has done 1 year of volunteer work with Special Needs educators and support teachers. She has a good knowledge of working in Singapore as an IB Science curriculum developer and teacher. She has done a few observations working with counsellors for primary kids in Singapore. She has a good knowledge of applying Play therapy and Art therapy to engage and teach kids. Currently, she is pursuing a 1 year Diploma in Child Psychology and Intervention from Singapore. With Biotechnology as her Bachelor's and Master's degree and book editing experience she has strong knowledge of Science and English at a higher secondary level.

Background

Born and raised in the Philippines, Michelle moved to Singapore in 2007 and was given the opportunity to work as a Admin Executive at Emaar International School for 2 years. After that amazing experience in the education industry she discovered her passion to work around children. She was a Teaching Assistant at Raintrees International Kindergarten for 2 years and a part-time Teaching Assistant at Sir Manasseh Meyer International School as well. In her spare time she loves watching movies, cycling with her family, and catching up with friends.

Yarowet Emeot

Background

Yaowarat (Ammie) was a Nurse Instructor who taught and trained student nurses at Nursing College in Thailand for 11 years. Her clinic experience is in Trauma, Neurosurgery and the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) department. She married and moved to Singapore in October 2023. When she was a Master's degree student she worked a part-time job as a school nurse. She loves to work with children and teenagers because she loves the caring energy from them.
